Nature Marches On

Pretty excited to see this on our hike this weekend. Skunk Cabbage - one of the first things to come up in late winter bc at its core it could be up to 80 degrees and melts the snow above it. It looks like dead meat and evidently smells that way too as it attracts early bugs that way. I love the scent of skunk so I am personally disappointed it doesn't smell like the real thing but it was great to see. We all stopped for a year, but nature marched on.
